Goal focused therapy and reviews

Regular sessions working on goals that matter to you, with progress checked along the way.

What's involved

Therapy starts with goals you set, in your own words. Things like "shower on my own again", "cook dinner for my family twice a week" or "catch the bus to the shops". We then plan sessions to work towards them.

Sessions might involve practising tasks, building strength or endurance for everyday activities, learning new strategies, trying equipment, or working with the people who support you. We'll often leave you with a simple home program to keep things moving between visits.

Who it can help

  • People who want to build skills and independence over a period of weeks or months
  • NDIS participants using capacity building supports
  • People recovering from illness or injury who want to get back to their usual activities
  • Anyone whose goals have changed and who needs a fresh plan

How it works

We agree on how often we'll meet and roughly how long we expect to work together. Every few months, or sooner if things change, we review progress against your goals and decide what comes next.

Some goals are reached quickly. Others take longer or need a different approach. When you've got where you want to be, we'll plan to finish up, and you're always welcome to come back later.

Paying for therapy

Sessions can be paid privately, with help from a Medicare GP plan or health fund, through a Support at Home package, or through the NDIS for self managed and plan managed participants. See fees and cancellations.
