Daily living and independence
Building the skills, routines and confidence to manage everyday tasks your way.
What's involved
We work on the tasks that matter to you, in the places you actually do them. That might be showering and dressing, preparing meals, keeping on top of housework, managing medication routines, shopping or using public transport.
Sometimes the answer is a different way of doing a task. Sometimes it's a piece of equipment, a change to your routine, or practising until it feels manageable. Often it's a mix.
Who it can help
- People living with disability who want to do more for themselves
- People getting back into everyday life after illness, surgery or injury
- People managing fatigue, pain or a chronic condition that makes daily tasks harder
- Families and carers who want practical ways to support someone without taking over
How it works
We start by talking about your day and the parts that feel hardest. Together we choose a few goals to focus on, then work on them during regular sessions at home or in the community.
Between sessions you might practise a new routine or try a strategy on your own. We check in on how it's going and adjust the plan as you go.
Paying for daily living support
Sessions can be paid privately, with help from a Medicare GP plan or health fund, through a Support at Home package, or through the NDIS for self managed and plan managed participants. See fees and cancellations.
