Assistive technology and equipment

Finding equipment that suits you, making sure it fits, and showing you how to use it.

What's involved

The right equipment can make a big difference to safety and independence. The wrong equipment tends to end up in a cupboard. We help you work out what will actually be useful in your home and your routine.

That includes everyday items like shower chairs, toilet frames, bed rails and kitchen aids, as well as more complex equipment like pressure care cushions, transfer aids and specialised seating.

Who it can help

  • People finding personal care, transfers or household tasks harder than they used to
  • NDIS participants who need assistive technology recommendations for their plan
  • People on a Support at Home package who want advice before buying equipment
  • Carers who need equipment that makes supporting someone safer for both of them

How it works

We assess what you need, then trial options with you wherever possible, either at home or with a supplier. Once we agree on the best fit, we write any funding request or quote documentation needed.

When the equipment arrives, we can check it's set up correctly and show you, and the people who support you, how to use it safely.

Paying for equipment advice

Our time is charged as an assessment or therapy session. The equipment itself is usually paid for separately, through your own funds, the NDIS, a Support at Home package or another funding body. See fees and cancellations.
